Susie Beyl - Mentoring Program
Hello students, caregivers, and volunteers!
My name is Susie and I am the Mentoring Coordinator here at Snowden for the 2020-21 school year. I am serving as an AmeriCorps Ambassador of Mentoring in collaboration with Mass Mentoring Partnership.
I am working remotely for now (and can't wait to meet you over Zoom!), but mentoring will be a combination of remote and socially distanced in-person meetings taking place off campus.
I'll be working alongside teachers and support staff to match interested students with mentors from the Boston community to learn about college and career options, receive academic tutoring, and build relationships based on shared interests and goals. Students and mentors will attend trainings on relevant national and world topics.
Like everyone else at Snowden, I am committed to being creative to make sure students learn inside and outside of the classroom during this challenging year.
Mentoring is always important, but especially now it's essential that young people have access to grounded, professional relationships with adults in their communities.
The Mentoring Program kicks off in October. I will be in touch via email soon and you can always reach me by phone or email!
I look forward to working with you all to make this year one from which we can learn and grow!
