News & Announcements

Chinatown

Field Trip to Chinatown

Brief Update about our Chinatown Field Trip yesterday with Chinese 2 and Chinese 3
Our students had a truly meaningful and enjoyable language and cultural learning experience. Students were divided into 3 teams and spent the afternoon exploring a variety of locations in Chinatown, including Chinese bakeries, bubble tea shops, a mooncake shop, an Asian craft store, and a Chinese supermarket. Along the way, they ordered food in Chinese, described flavors, asked questions, and practiced conversations about prices and preferences. It was wonderful to see them confidently using the language in real-life situations while enjoying some delicious treats and meaningful interactions.
A huge thank you to Mr. E and Ms. Naveed for joining us as chaperones. Your support helped make the trip smooth and enjoyable for everyone. (Reported by Ms. Cai)
Financial Aid

Financial Aid Assistance

I am so proud to share that today we were able to help 35 students complete some or all parts of their financial aid applications (FAFSAs and CCS Profiles)!

This was such a meaningful and productive day for Snowden students and families.

A big shoutout to Sha Lee, our Freedom House College and Pathway Advisor, who single-handedly managed all the details and logistics for this big event. Her hard work, self-reliance, and ability to think one step ahead made the entire day run so smoothly. I also want to thank the rest of my incredible college team, Zoe Yuan and Jonathan Long, as well as, Ms. Desruisseaux, Ms. Compres, and the 15 volunteers who gave their time to support our students. Japan

Japanese Students' Visit

Snowden welcomed students and staff from the Japanese School-Nishiyamoto for a wonderful cultural exchange visit! Our guests participated in classes, shared insights about Japanese education and culture, and connected with our students through conversation and collaboration.

A special thank-you to Mrs. Daboussi for organizing the visit and to the Snowden students who helped make our guests feel welcomed and supported throughout the day. Your enthusiasm and hospitality truly showcased the spirit of our school community!
