Welcome to Snowden International School at Copley

Hello! My name is Raquel Martinez-Bivins, and I’m proud to serve as the Head of School at Snowden International School. We are an international, multicultural, and multilingual high school located in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay, committed to preparing students to thrive in college, career, and an increasingly interconnected world.

At Snowden, our work is grounded in three core commitments:

First, we are building an inclusive school community where every student has access to high-quality instruction every day. We believe all students—regardless of background, language, or learning needs—deserve rigorous, engaging learning experiences and the supports necessary to succeed.

Second, we are strengthening our vision for language learning. As an international school, we are committed to ensuring students don’t just take language classes, but truly experience language and culture. Our goal is that students leave Snowden with real proficiency and authentic opportunities to apply their learning—including travel and global experiences connected to their language of study.

Third, we are deepening our commitment to an International Baccalaureate for All model. This means preparing students from grade 9 onward for the academic expectations of the IB Diploma Programme, building strong writing, reading, critical thinking, and analytical skills so they are ready to succeed by grade 12 and beyond.

Together, these priorities ensure that Snowden remains a place where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to see themselves as global learners and leaders.
